Mongolia now has law on pets

The draft law on pets regulating relations related to protection of public health, registration, guardianship, temporary care, breeding, protection from violence and reduction of the number of stray animals.

MONGOLIA – The draft law on pets regulating relations related to protection of public health, registration, guardianship, temporary care, breeding, protection from violence and reduction of the number of stray animals was approved at the session of the Parliament today. Thus, Mongolia has a law on pets. Therefore, citizens have the rights and responsibilities of pet guardians. For instance:

Legal guardian shall be 18 years of age and has full legal capacity;
Legal guardian shall have a source of income to provide food and shelter for a pet, cover health care and services, and have attended dog and cat guardian training;
Pet shall have appropriate equipment such as a collar, muzzle and bag when traveling in public;
Legal guardian shall take care of the pet’s offspring;
